Fielding a strong slate of entries throughout California, the 2024 San Joaquin Wine Competition showcased the best tasting wines in the event’s history! Held annual by the San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers Association at Riboli Family Winery in Paso Robles, the judging panel handed best of show red and white, respectively to Eberle’s Paso Robles 2021 Vineyard Selection and Moody Press Cellars 2023 Monterey County Chardonnay.

In addition to the best in show awards, double gold medals (by unanimous selection of the tasting panelists) included wines from

Eberle, Moody Press Cellars and San Simeon.

The judging panel consisted of wine makers from various esteemed wineries, around the state, with a heavy influence of Central Coast and Central Valley producers along with wine industry professionals, writers and on each panel, a younger “judge in training”.

Sponsored by Nviro, Filtrox Filters and Ravago Chemicals, the 2024 Competition awarded 72 medals to wines from southern to norther California, and every region in between. Competition Chari, Marty Spate, remarks that, “in my 15 years involved with this event, these were by far the highest quality entries that we have every received across the board.” He continued, “And, the results verify this fact. We are excited for seeing what the future holds!”
