The Iowa Winemakers Association recently held its annual conference at Oscar Carl Vineyard in Sioux City. The two-day event gave growers and winemakers the opportunity to get together to discuss the latest in enology, viticulture and marketing. The Iowa Wine Awards were also held during the Conference, recognizing industry leaders for several categories in the state.
“It’s no secret that Iowans know a thing or two about agriculture, and our wine industry is proof of that dedication,” the Iowa Winegrowers Association wrote on its website. “Since the resurgence of the industry and the establishment of the Iowa Wine Growers Association, the community has worked tirelessly to elevate the craft of grape growing and winemaking across the state.”
