Event Description: Join, UCCE Specialists Daniele Zaccaria, Lauren Hale, and Tapan Pathak, UCCE Advisors Michael Cahn, Monica Cooper, Abdelmoneim Zakaria Mohamed, and Justin D. Tanner in this in-person Workshop on “Building Resilient Grapevine Systems to Extreme and Variable Weather in the Central Valley” on June 8th, 2026 at the UCCE San Joaquin County office in Stockton, CA to learn about the latest research and advances in Weather-Adaptive Production Practices for Grapevine.

Topics include: Extreme Weather Trends and Impacts, Weather-related Challenges for Grapevine Production, Effects of Winter Cover Cropping on Soil Health for Grapevine, Inaccuracy and Errors of Satellite-derived Grapevine ET Estimates, and Decision Support Tools for Grapevine Irrigation and Nutrient Management. A set of information and tools available to manage climate change risks will also be presented during the Workshop.

Registration fee is $20 per person and includes participation in the thematic sessions, coffee break, lunch box meal, workshop materials, and access to the workshop presentations.

Who should attend: Grapevine growers, vineyard managers, representatives from the grapevine production industry, technical assistance providers, consultants and practitioners, CCAs, CPAs, natural resource managers, personnel from water conservation districts, irrigation districts’ managers, extension specialists and advisors, professional researchers, University students, and representatives from state and federal agencies.
