Save the date, Tuesday, November 11th for the annual Tree & Vine Expo at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, in Turlock, California, the heart of North Valley wine grape, tree nut and fruit country. Held by Malcolm Media Ag Publishing in cooperation with California Ag Network, Pacific Nut Producer, American Vineyard, and California Fruit & Vegetable Magazines, it is the ultimate postharvest industry gathering place for regional grape, nut & tree fruit growers and crop advisors. A thousand growers, PCAs and industry stakeholders attend this expo to enjoy State of the Almond, Pecan, Pistachio, Walnut & Wine Grape Industry presentations, Continuing Education Credited IPM seminars, great food & company, and an industry trade show featuring over a hundred Ag businesses.
For the first time, the expo schedule has been lengthened to conclude at 3:30 p.m. to accommodate more seminar sessions, more continuing educations credits, more trade show networking opportunities, as well as a new research poster session, raffle & social at the conclusion of the event. 5.5 hours of PCA/PA/QAL/QAC and 6 hours of CCA continuing education credits will be available for this event (including one hour of Laws & Regulations). 2.5 hours of INMP credits have also been approved for growers looking to renew their Irrigation & Nitrogen Management Plan certification.
Unique to this year’s program will be a special presentation on farmer-led groundwater sustainability efforts through multi-benefit land repurposing, fallowing and on-farm recharge. Representatives from the East Turlock Subbasin and EKI Environment & Water will help growers navigate the best options and incentives. Rogell Rogers from Sustainable Conservation will be leading a panel of growers sharing their experience with on-farm groundwater recharge. Also, the recent spike in Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter populations in Stanislaus County, the grape industry-threatening Pierce’s Disease they vector, and quarantine protocols will be discussed in another presentation. See the full program HERE for more details and preregister online at http://agexpo.biz.
