Pocket gophers cause severe damage by feeding on vines and their roots, chewing holes in irrigation systems and creating dangerously uneven ground. When natural ecosystem balancing by coyotes, snakes, dogs, cats and owls is not enough, trapping is a very effective tool. Gopher trapping expert Roger Baldwin (PhD, UCCE) will provide a hands-on field workshop, teaching us how to best trap these rodents on our farms. We’ll learn about identifying rodents, finding the main burrow, choosing a trap, setting a trap and monitoring for success.
