Overview

Save the date, Friday, November 14th for the annual Grape, Nut & Tree Fruit Expo at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds.  Held by Malcolm Media Ag Publishing in cooperation with California Ag Network, Pacific Nut Producer, American Vineyard, and California Fruit & Vegetable Magazines, it is the ultimate postharvest industry gathering place for regional grape, nut & tree fruit growers and crop advisors.  Fresno is the number one Ag County in the state and the center of the Central Valley’s rich and diverse agricultural production. Nearly a thousand growers, PCAs and industry stakeholders attend this expo to enjoy State of the Almond, Pistachio, Walnut, Tree Fruit, Raisin, Table & Wine Grape Industry presentations, Continuing Education Credited IPM seminars, great food & company, and an industry trade show featuring over a hundred Ag businesses.

5 hours of PCA/PA/QAL/QAC and 6 hours of CCA credits will be available for this event (including one hour of Laws & Regulations).  One hour of INMP credits has also been approved for growers looking to renew their Irrigation & Nitrogen Management Plan certification.

For the first time, the expo schedule has been lengthened to conclude at 3:30 p.m. to accommodate more seminar sessions, more continuing educations credits, more trade show networking opportunities, as well as a new research poster session, raffle & social at the conclusion of the event. Unique to this year’s program will be an expanded State of the Fresh Fruit Industry session featuring representatives from the blueberry, citrus, fig, kiwifruit, stone fruit and table grape industries. A panel of local raisin growers will present the latest results of new raisin varieties and trellising systems they have established on their farms. Due to a recent and unusual widespread infestation of rats in Central Valley orchards and vineyards, attendees will also appreciate insights on how to manage these pests during a seminar presented by Roger Baldwin from the UC Cooperative Extension.

The Fresno Chamber of Commerce is partnering this year with Malcolm Media for the first time and will be presenting its annual Ag Awards presentation during breakfast (9-10 a.m.) at the Grape, Nut & Tree Fruit Expo.  The Chamber will be honoring Stuart Woolf of Woolf Farming as Agriculturalist of the Year.  The Baker Tilly Agribusiness of the Year will be awarded to Belmont Nursery. Agricultural Employee of the Year will be presented to Edgar Blanco of Hall Ag.  Shelly Abajian will also be honored as AGvocate of the Year.  See the full program for more details HERE.

This event is FREE to attend and wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of local industry associations, universities and our sponsors, which this year include: American Pistachio Growers, Antles Pollen, California Association of Pest Control Advisers, California Fresh Fruit Association, California Walnut Board & Commission, Dave Wilson Nursery, Dormex, Fresno Chamber of Commerce, Fresno County Farm Bureau, Fresno State Viticulture & Enology, Liphatech, Midland Tractor, Orchard Robotics, ProFarm Group, Raisin Bargaining Association, Sun-Maid Growers, Sunridge Nurseries, Synagro Technologies, TriCal Group, and Wonderful Nurseries.  Interested in exhibiting/sponsoring for our 2025 event series? Visit agexpo.biz/exhibit and give us a call at 559-298-6020 to see what options are still available.  Those who elect to sponsor early get the extended recognition for their support, so reach out ASAP!

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is recommended for a “Fast Pass” into the event. Online registration details to come. A hot breakfast and coffee will be waiting for you upon arrival, not to mention Malcolm Media’s famous tri-tip sandwiches for lunch.

This event along with other Malcolm Media Ag Expos has generated nearly $150,000 in scholarship endowments for the agricultural programs at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, Fresno State, Santa Rosa Junior College and UC Davis.
