CAWG released the 2026 Winegrape Mapping Project, identifying 439,115 standing acres of winegrapes across California as of August 1, 2026 and 47,229 acres removed between August 1, 2025, and August 1, 2026. Available exclusively to CAWG and regional association partner members, this comprehensive mapping tool provides a valuable member benefit, offering detailed insights into vineyard acreage, removals, and statewide trends.

To help members explore the new data, CAWG, in partnership with Allied Grape Growers and Land IQ, will host an informational webinar on October 29 at 11:00 AM. This session will highlight key findings and include a guided walkthrough of the interactive mapping tool, available to CAWG and participating regional association members.

Developed by Land IQ, a Sacramento-based agricultural and environmental science firm, the project combines remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and ground verification to deliver the most accurate, field-verified dataset of California winegrape acreage to date.
