Virginia Vineyards Association Winter Technical Meeting

Virginia grape growers are invited to attend the Virginia Vineyards Association Winter Technical Meeting and tradeshow, February 19-21 at the OMNI Hotel in Charlottesville, VA. Items to be covered at the meeting will include: pesticide recertification, expanded beginning grape production workshop, integrated disease management session with Dr. Mizuho Nita from Virginia Tech, Virginia grape industry trends, research updates (including spotted lanternfly), new wine grape variety evaluations/tasting, wine reception showcase, winemakers research exchange, Virginia Vineyards Association Grower of the Year Award presentation, and more. Registration for the event is $225 for association members and $290 for nonmembers.
Technical Meeting and Trade Show Details: Feburary 20-21, 2020. The registration fee is $225 for each VVA member and $290 for non-members. Each member organization may send up to four (4) staff members at the member rate without registering them as Associate Members. (These attendees will not receive any communications or member-only benefits.) Member 2020 Dues must be in good standing to receive the VVA Member rate. To avoid a $50 late fee registrations must be completed by 5:00pm on February 3, 2020. We cannot accommodate onsite walk-in registrations this year, so register early!
The fee includes the following for one (1) attendee:
- Educational sessions on Thursday and Friday
- Trade show with select industry exhibitors
- Thursday night reception featuring VVA member’s wines
- Continental breakfast on Thursday and Friday
- Buffet lunch on Friday in the Omni’s beautiful
Pre-Meeting Workshop Options: choose from two (2) tracks:
Interactive Grape Disease Management February 19; 1:00-5:00 pm, Omni Hotel, $75 member or $125 non member.
Beginning Grape Production Workshop February 19; 10:30-5:00 pm, Omni Hotel, $75 member or $125 non member. This workshop is expanding from a half day to full day and is chocked full of great information!
Additional Thursday Night Wine Reception Tickets are available for $35 each.
Wine Donation: If you would like your wine included in Thursday night’s festivities please email the office with the subject: ‘Wine Donation’ and the number of bottles red/white you will bring.
Meeting PDF or Hardcopy, choose one (1): In an attempt to be more environmentally friendly, this year we again offer the option of receiving an electronic version (pdf) of the speaker notes prior to the meeting. The Omni’s meeting rooms do not have wifi so plan to download the pdf prior to arriving for the meeting. Prefer a hardcopy? No worries, it’s still an option.When registering

To register online scroll down to the registration area and pay via Visa, Master Card or American Express. Please note: last year we exceeded the Omni’s capacity due to numerous last minute registrations. Once the meeting sells out no further registrations will be accepted and no onsite walk-in registrations will be allowed.
Cancellation Policy: Registration cancellations received by February 11, 2020 will receive a refund less a $40 administrative fee. No refunds will be made after this date.
Hotel: Registrants are responsible for their own room reservations. We have secured a discounted rate for a block of hotel rooms at the Omni Charlottesville. These rooms go early so reserve soon. Onsite parking is available for those not staying at the hotel: $10
per day/valet or $8 per day/self-park. Some years they comp parking, but it is not guaranteed. IF it is comped, we will announce it during the meeting and the ticket to be scanned will be at the VVA registration table.
Wi-Fi is not available in the conference rooms or exhibit hall, but is available (and free) in the hotel lobby.
