SCVTG Healthy Soils, Adapting to the Impacts of Climate Change

Join the Sonoma County Vineyard Technical Group to to discuss climate change impacts on agriculture in our region, how to assess and improve soil health in vineyards, and carbon farming and its role in sustainable/regenerative agriculture. Miguel Garcia, PhD, CCA, and Sustainable Ag Program Manager with the Napa Resource Conservation District will be the featured speaker. Miguel provides on-farm technical assistance and planning related to soil health, nutrient management, erosion control, carbon sequestration, and irrigation management. He also designs educational programs in Spanish aiming at providing vineyard farm workers with valuable information on various topics related to sustainable agriculture. Miguel firmly believes that worldwide implementation of sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices is paramount to ensure the integrity of our delicate natural resources and the food supply chain necessary to feed an ever-growing world population.  Miguel is a certified crop adviser and has a PhD in Environmental Sciences and a B.S. in Chemistry from UC Riverside.
